I'm going to do a demo of it tomorrow, but their well done videos pretty much explain it all. Plus, you also get Brass, Woodwinds, Percussion and Pitched Percussion (with Piano, Wood and Iron instead of High, Medium and Low.) So much more for the same price of Action Strings. two high string parts one medium, etc.) Though technically Action Strings has more phrases, they seem "set" in their particular style, where as with Capriccio, you can mix and match all the different phrases in various ways, then play it with the harmonic shifts to add even more variations. You can have High, Medium and Low strings going, or any combination of that (i.e.

I am fairly impressed with how much you can actually do with Capriccio over Action Strings (and Strikes, put together!) Just for the strings part alone, there are quite a few phrases, plus variations, harmonic shifts and more. So because of this thread, I researched SonoKinetic, who I am surprised I've never heard of before, and after seeing what all they had to offer, bought Capriccio.

I've seen 5 TV shows this past couple of weeks where I immediately recognized Action Strings/Strikes and Dark Zebra (the composer didn't even bother to tweak the Dark Zebra presets to make it his own. It seems like Action Strings has more string phrases, but they might not be as varied as Sonokinetic's.? anyone else, could you confirm that?I have Action Strings and have been a little disappointed on how limiting it is, but even more disappointed at how recognizable it and Action Strikes are these days. I have not had dealings with them directly, but based on their interactions on the VI forum, they seem like the type of folk who would be easy to approach and deal with. Leap of faith, yanno? Also, you can try emailing the Sono guys with any Qs you may have, if you think it will help you get a better idea of what the libs really offer. Have you seriously considered purchasing one or two of these? I know they aren't cheap, but sometimes you just have to go for it. I have no experience with the Sono libs you mentioned, but I am pretty sure you are getting more than just strings - that the libs are the entire orchestra, no? In that case, you might find the strings are not as in depth as you are hoping, as the focus is not just on strings, but everything. It just does not sound the same - period.īut I also agree about the flexibility not being there. The phrases in phrase-based libs are - assuming the musicians and engineering are up to snuff - always going to beat the underoos off of creating phrases from individual samples. It's kind of like how a sustain pedal on a piano causes sympathetic vibration of other strings. It is recommended to add all fastlane actions you use to your Fastfile. Thanks, but I'm not looking to just "get there." I'm looking for the realism that comes with recordings of multiple notes / ie: phrases. Arrays can be passed as a comma delimited string (e.g. It's important to note that the CLI supports primitive types like integers, floats, booleans, and strings. To pass parameters, make use of the : symbol, for example fastlane run automatic_code_signing parameter1:"value1" parameter2:"value2" To do so, you can run the following command from your terminal fastlane run automatic_code_signing It is recommended to add the above action into your Fastfile, however sometimes you might want to run one-offs. To show the documentation in your terminal, run fastlane action automatic_code_signing * = default value is dependent on the user's system
